Wandering Star that is a beautiful story and good for you for having such a lovely forgiving heart.

With my dad, it was slightly different. There were two issues at stake, one which I was aware of and I forgave him before he died - we had known each other in a past life, there had been deep grief in this past life as he was my father then, I died when young. His higher had been expecting to see me ... and he didn't recognise me when I was born cos I was female not male. I find that story so utterly tragic that we spent 40 odd yeares not knowing each other and how devastated he must have been, I wept when I heard it for him.

What I hadn't known was that he gave me a patch on my heart to prevent me being as fully loving, strong and powerful - adn all sorts of things. He had also been bullied and he handed this mantle to me because he felt so disappointed and let down that I wasn't who he expected.

I believe when he died, he did recognise me and was so present as he just wanted to stick around "his son" (I'm all girl, but he finally recognised me as the son from his former life). He could see that I knew him and that there was no recrimination. But the second issue, that was more subtle and only with an expert healer did things unravel.

Incidentally, when working through the issue of him not recognising me, it took quite a while for me to work it through to forgiving him and Wandering Star I know exactly what you mean by that shift - it is an Eureka moment and I think it allowed him to make his move to the next realm. (I think there were other factors as well - it's not all about me - but it was a key release for him).

Wandering Star I also agree that they want you to forgive them, to release a toxin in your heart.
