Getting visions before sleep?

I often get visions, scenes and people with astonishing detail and HD quality. Spontaneously. Out of nowhere. Especially in a relaxed state. Like before going to sleep.

Last night I was listening to something, when an image popped into my mind.

My grandparents old house in the countryside. There were around two dozen people dancing there. In colorful dresses.
It was so real. And I was in it. I was dancing with a person in blue robes.

I felt surrounded by this immense joy and madness. While I was also scared.

Suddenly people started appearing out nowhere and filling the courtyard. All fizzing around like little particles in boiling water. Brushing past us.

I was fully conscious. Connected to reality. But it was so real. I was a real experience.

What do you think this could be?

It wasnt like my past visions, which were much like watching a movie. I was "inside" it.

Sounds like you were experiencing a Lucid Dream to me...Lucid Dreams feel extremely vivid and "real" as if you are actually there...

However I was not asleep. But awake. Just very relaxed and far away.

So lucid "Day dream"?

It could have just been my imagination?

But this is not how imagination feels.

Okay, yeah you're right...You did mention you experience these visions right before going to sleep (my bad )

Alright, I believe what you experienced was happening between the transition between being awake and falling asleep...This is called hypnagogia, and during this state a person can be awake but they experience extremely vivid and realistic phenomena such as visions, sounds, etc....So in a way, it's like having an extremely vivid day dream...

It's completely fine. No worries :)

And I have had several such visions before. And sounds.

This felt much different.

1. The strength of emotion and familiarity. I felt fear. Belonging. Joy. Insanity.

2. I wasn't watching it like you watch a movie. I was present there. Inside it. I truly experienced it.
Like I was two places at once.
In my room and in the countryside house.

Dyou think such a vision qualifies as hypnogogia?

This happens to me a lot but it usually involves symbols. It feels different from a dream tho. But I don't know what else to call it than a dream.
