We look up to our spiritual advisors and gurus who claim to have the ‘keys’ which is supposed to direct us to the Light of God. For whatever reason, the spiritual advisors and gurus have a tendency to never use the ‘keys’ let alone walk thru into the Light of God. They do not even open the door so others can go through the door so as to be in the Light of God. It should be apparent that if one wants to Be in the Light of God, once has to be wiser then the spiritual advisors and gurus while at the same being innocent so as to go beyond these spiritual advisors and gurus.

Verse 39 in the Gospel of Thomas seems to be emphasizing what is written in Luke 11: 52 and Matthew 23:13.

Luke 11:52 reads:

“Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”


Matthew 23:13 reads:

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

Does it matter which set of myths and lies gets into scriptures?

This was discussed awhile ago on these threads somewhere. There was a funny quote by a scientist...something like "we now know a god exists, what we don't know is why dinosaurs and diseases? Why species that died off?"

This is another reference to mainstream religions, where the emphasis is often on the outer forms of worship and belief and not on the process of inner investigation and discovery....

Also, would point to a similar theme in the earlier verses...

10. Jesus said, "I have cast fire upon the world, and look, I'm guarding it until it blazes."

32. Jesus said, "A city built on a high hill and fortified cannot fall, nor can it be hidden."

34. Jesus said, "If a blind person leads a blind person, both of them will fall into a hole."

One person has asked to make copies of those translated verses minus the rhetoric. Being this is a new translation, if any others want to make copies, I have no problem with that.

If time permits, I would like to group some of the verses in groups and have them posted so others can have a copy.
