Crystals on television: TV Show "Prospectors"

I happened to run across a show on The Weather Channel today called Prospectors.

My first thought was that the channel had undergone some mission creep, because other than being out in the weather, there's not a whole lot of weather-related content to be had in watching people dig.

Then I saw WHAT they were digging, and I stopped worrying about weather content. They are locating INCREDIBLE gems and stones in the earth. Oh. My. Word! How I would love to see stones like that in person!

Of course, I thought about this forum, and how much a lot of us here would LOOOOOVE to see these crystals on TV. So if you have The Weather Channel, have a look at your TV schedule and see when Prospectors comes on. Or check this link out: http://www.weather.com/tv/tvshows/prospectors/main

I actually just saw it for the first time the other night myself. It was awesome seeing them look for and find those huge chunks of Amazonite and Smoky Quartz. Just seeing them dig and break into rock for stuff makes me wish I could do the same. I want to go to the Czech Republic and dig for Moldavite so badly. Unfortunately there aren't too many valuable stones in the state I live, at least that I am aware of. There's a specific type of Jasper that is only found in and around this area but I don't think it's especially valuable as far as dollars and cents go. The thought of putting your hands and labor into the Earth and finding an incredibly valuable natural piece of art makes me feel really good inside. I know it's incredibly difficult and laborious work and they are coming up with nothing more than they are coming up with even a small find. But still it just seems so fun and interesting to me I would love to go to one of those places that you pay a little money to the land owner and you go mining for crystals and gemstones in a proven rich ground. I have seen some of those types of places before on some TV show where this lady goes around the world mining for specific things in specific areas. She actually found some expensive stuff from time to time unfortunately I forget the name of the show since I wasn't as interesting in crystals, gemstones, and tektites back then as I am today.
