ISEN Crisis Guide -
There is a growing international movement of those who see their mental health experiences primarily in terms of spiritual emergence / emergency / crisis.
There are National & International Spiritual Crisis groups. Among more recent projects are Shades of Awakening, Crazy Wise, Emerging Proud, am i bipolar or waking up, & many others.
For those who see their experiences more in terms of spiritual crisis, there is this new free guide from ISEN - the International Spiritual Crisis Network -
http://www.spiritualemergencenetwork...emerge-crisis/
http://www.spiritualemergencenetwork.org/wiki/
The RCP (Royal College of Psychiatry) runs a psychiatry & spirituality special interest group, which is very popular & has some very interesting articles & publications -
http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/workinpsych...rituality.aspx
Traditionally a lot of what now comes under the psychosis was often seen as Shamanic / Spiritual / Healing Crisis, & addressed as such. There are some good articles on the subject of traditional shamanism / healing here within the Sacred Text Archive -
http://sacred-texts.com/sha/index.htm
There is also a very comprehensive overview on the subject on Wikipedia, that covers the main area -

New UN Report: Steps Forward, But No End to Impunity
Good article exploring some of the more recent developments concerning some of the area that some people within mental health areas feel very strongly about concerning forced treatment & the rights of people diagnosed as suffering with mental illnesses.

Daryl Bem Proved ESP Is Real
Which means science (materialism) is broken.
http://redux.slate.com/cover-stories...is-broken.html
Will the growing evidence for the non-physical / ESP eventually overturn the current dominant materialist paradigm / belief system?

i personally take an integral/holistic view of my condition/experiences - bio/psycho/social/spiritual - that things are mediated across spirit - soul/psyche - physical body/brain - social/environmental. i don't see any either/or with it all, but rather that everything is interrelated & interdependent.
imo Carl Jung spoke a lot of sense on all these matters, as have others.
Current mainstream psychiatry primarily focuses on the physical - the physical body/brain. Psychological & social elements often seem secondary to that, & the areas of the soul & spirit are usually excluded.
Obviously it is impossible to argue a case for the spiritual with a materialist, as many now appear to be. Many people also seem fixed on the idea that 'functional' (no known/identifiable biological aetiology [cause]) mental health disorders are brain conditions - i don't think they primarily are - Not to exclude the physiological (biologic) aspects of them - although imo primarily in the vast majority of cases i think the primary aetiology is psychogenic (cause in the mind/psyche).
i've spent the past 10 years on-line trying to raise awareness of & explore the spiritual in mental health, to little avail. Am interested in other people thoughts on the matter. Thanks.

have you thought about using wholistic plant medicine such as cannabidiol
the highest dose i have found so far is here - highdosecbd.com
from what i understand it is the best natural antipsychotic that money can buy
it also helps with many other ailments that may be related such as depression and anxiety
let me know what your thoughts are :)

Hi. i have experimented a lot with orthomolecular medicine, diet & nutrition.
i was using CBD oil a lot, But a new law in the UK has made most of it illegal. There is only now one official Government supplier, & it is very expensive.

i'm not too sure just what i read...
"With the MHRA's decision, CBD manufacturers will need to show that their products meet safety, quality, and efficacy standards, but they'll be completely legal if they are."

Reintroducing Spirituality
From a mainstream paper - wow!
The mental health crisis could be tackled by reintroducing spirituality instead of focusing on material gain -
Our aversion to religion and spirituality has led to a society pathologically materialistic, which is partly to blame for the rising numbers of mental health issues in young people
