Energy Ripple?

May 13 - 14 I am curious if anyone else experienced what I can only call an energy ripple effect? On the morning of the 14th I was driving to work in a good mood. While stopped at a stop light I was 'hit' by this overwhelming feeling of sadness. It was so intense I started crying! I drove for a little over a mile in full out weeping. Then it just passed. I could feel it wasn't me or within me but a 'collective sadness' that was all around me.
I get to work and started a casual conversation with person who lives on site where I work. I asked how her day was going and said great but . . . she had just stepped out of the shower and was 'hit' by sadness. She sat on her bed and wept for 10 minutes.
Around and hour later she called me back to her premises. She told me that she had just got off the phone with her sister. Conversation was cheery and talking about an up coming vacation they were taking together. But the sister then said she was feeling a bit blue. When pressed to explain she said the same thing happened to her. She cried at her desk at work for near 40 minutes and used my exact same words - "a collective sadness".
The next day I had non-leading conversations with 5 more people who shared this same feeling. 2 of which live 4 states away. Did anyone else experience this? Any thoughts as to where it may have come from?
