Looking back at my life I see three things I heavily strived for. When I was young it was sports. Then success in a small business. Then finding myself on my spiritual journey. They all played a big part in who I am today. The first two made the last one easy. I will call them all extreme because I put a great deal of focus on them.

Athletics gave me ways to develop my energy body in ways that seems neglected in today's spirituality. Exercise does just as much at expanding my energy body as does meditation. Business taught me ethics/following my heart and deprogramming of the mind which both seemed to help my spiritual journey in a big way. To further explain I used ethics to build a powerful marketing platform. People love to buy but hate to be sold. So I simply educated. Plus people whom are given something unconditionality eight times out of ten recpricate. Its full proof. So in my spiritual journey I had a lot of courage about following my heart. Leaving myself open in various ways. In extreme ways IMO.

Because your heart lies in it.

Or - escapism from something else?

There's a yin and yang suggestion!

Because some people are extremists.
Because some people can be bothered.
Because some people have a need to prove their worth.
Because some people like to take the long way round.

Just some thoughts as I read your question Mr. Razzle-Dazzler-Frazzler.

Yer I hear you, some call it a one pointed focus where nothing else gets any attention other than what one is focused on .

I think it can fall into the extreme bracket, I would say many would suggest as such looking at one whom has such a focus but the one that entertains one pointedness sometimes isn't aware of the way they are being perceived ..

At the time it's just necessary to be how they are ..

I can relate to the exercise part of your post 'running' (excuse the pun)

That's an interesting one Belle .

I think one's motivation can reflect within our hearts expression for sure, on the flip side many come from the ego also in such a manner where one wants to attain and acheive their goals no matter what .

I think with one's extremeness there is such a force behind the intention .

Perhaps it's interesting to understand why something seemingly means so much to them ..

I would say my squashy friend that extremists are certainly mostly 'doers' in some shape or form . In reference to your thought 'Because some people can be bothered' although I would also say that one can be caught up in the energy of 'not being bothered to the extreme' lols ..

There certainly seems that there is a bee in the bonnet that makes one extreme in all cases ..
