I love my cat he's my best friend, but he's afraid of people and I feel bad. I'm moving out of my family's house because they sold the house and he s coming with me, and I feel really bad that I have to take him out, he's very comfortable.
How can I calm him down? A

I would try a small rose quartz pendant on his collar. If he's collarless, rose quartz around the environment may calm his fears and anxiety. You may also consider a calming mist of essential oils, but animals have such acute senses that it may be too strong of a smell.
My gut is telling me to use rose quartz.
I feel a high-pitched sound that may be inaudible to you that might be bothering your cat. Please be sure to check the environment for something that might be causing audible pain to your cat. For example, a sound-based mouse repellent that plugs into the wall, or other such devices.
Good luck! Let us know if you find something that works.
God Bless.

Most cat's I've seen run and hide when there are other people about... but try the rose quartz, and I'm serious about the high-pitched sound too. Try a decibel meter or pitch finder or something on your smart phone to see if there is anything to the sound. It's not the root cause of his fear, but it would be a relief to him if the sound was discovered and disabled.

Your cat is beautiful and adorable. I get the feeling that as long as he is kept indoors he should be fine. He seems to be afraid of other animals or predators?
I liked StormNexus' suggestions as well.

Doesn't trust humans for some reason but trusts you.
I wonder if you can calm him by singing a lovely tune and stroking him very slowly, especially round his face and ears and neck, then gently introducing another person who can do the same? A really peaceful atmosphere. So that gradually he will feel that other people are not always a threat to him?
Many animals do not like or trust young children around them. Dogs might snap. Cats just run away.
If that's you he's looking up to in the photo, then there is deep trust in his eyes. But maybe he has to be understood as well. That he is not really very gregarious with most humans.
Animals often relax when they hear sweet slow classical music at low volume.

Its kinda funny, every time he didn't like someone and either tried to bite them or cries and runs they end up being a ****ty person.
When he likes someone that comes in my mother always says ok, I can trust them.
Sometimes tho he gets a little freaked out randomly and it does take him a few minutes to warn up. He's absolutely hilarious, I dont know what it is but he's soooo SMART. one time I got locked out of my room and I was trying to break in, all of a sudden this paw extends and Reach's up trying to help me
My brother would never let him in his room, and he consistinly tried to open the door.
He KNOWS when your talking about him, his ears move as if he's listening and sometimes he will look at me and my mom and his mouth moves like he's talking but nothing comes oit

They make what's called a "Thundershirt" for cats and dogs, which help them feel protected and safe, especially when they're experiencing anxiety. You can Google it to find out more information about it.
