Nettle is fantastic for allergies

I take a tincture and a pill with Nettle. I suffer from allergies greatly and it helps me a lot! Allergies can be an awful damper on your life. I thought I'd share this knowledge with you all. =]

Nettles are good medicine, and also good food. They contain many nutritious things. I can't wait for spring, so I can gather new nettles to eat and put into soups and stews, which I have done for many years now.
They help stave off scurvy, if fruit can't be obtained, as they contain vitamin C.
Used medicinally, they also stem bleeding, can act quite quickly, and are very helpful if there is any 'womens' problem such as bleeding heavily at menstruation. (diagnosis always required! Herbal remedies should be checked with a qualified Herbalist)

I didn't know they were helpful for allergies! Thanks for this info.

Make a tea from nettle leaves mixed with local honey. It's great for hayfever.

I'm actually researching Nettle amongst other natural immune system supplements to help treat my Lyme disease. What I like about Nettle is that I can find and collect it myself. I'm going to try and find some this weekend and hopefully make some tea after I dry the young leaves.

Thank you all for this informative thread. I'm thinking of using nettle leaves. Will research it some more.
