So who grants these abilities?

Now, that was interesting....an assumption these are granted!

Is that what you think they are... gifts or granted?
Why didn't you go to ...they take hard work, discipline,
steadfastness and effort...research, meditation, contemplation, study...
maybe even sacrifice and fasting?

Just curious.

Okay, so they take hard work, discipline, effort, etc.?

Why do you think that some do the work in such a way as to achieve those results while others do not?

Great question...(observing your curiosity and discussions here)

No, no...don't think because I asked a question...that I am saying 'that'.

Regarding your second question... others don't concern me as to the whys...
there are a thousand stories in the naked city...as is said.

But isn't it obvious...you can answer your own question, I think you know the answer(s).

Life is pretty simple really...very uncomplicated.
You either 'do' something or you don't.
There can be a list as to why...and this is how therapists make money.

But this is the list I would rather post.

We are advised by many masters and yogis...
-Don't worry-be happy (Meher Baba)
-Those that concentrate on me will reach Me. (Krishna)
-He who places his mind on me, I will give him perfect peace (Isaiah 23)
-Do not worry (Jesus)
-Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46)
-I showed God that I loved Him, and He came to me. Love is
the magnet from which God cannot escape. (Yogananda)
-He who resigns his will..to God..will bind God...so that God can do nothing but what that man wills. (Meister Eckhart)

All of these I know; they are not just quotes...now, why have I practiced these so know these to be true?
Maybe this world hurt me just the right amount.
Maybe others have not reached their breaking point yet...which makes them turn 100% to God...
instead of to Maya...this Illusion...or the ego's thought system.

Hahaha, so look, I may have told you, after all, one of the thousand stories in the naked city.

So, in short, you don't know.

It also seems that you don't believe this to be a matter of choice, correct? Or possibly you're not sure about that either.

You see?

This is the most imp thing.
You may believe this Holy Spirit is everywhere...but
if you do not know and understand The Creator...actually know
the Mind of God ... the very Nature of God...
then, this is where faith stumbles.

You must also understand ...'He' hears every single thought you have...
why? Because that is where He is.
Mind you ...there are fleeting thoughts that float by...let them go
and laugh at them...harbor only good, kind and positive thoughts always.
This is the start of then having only thoughts of love for Him.

I digressed into loving God a little, occupational hazard, hahahaha.
Where does the "ill will" stem from?

You asked how a person believes that God has ill will could have faith. I don't personally believe that God specifically has ill will, but my life makes a pretty good case that God is disinterested in it. Maybe a better way to put it is that I've seen what I considered to be promising doors appear only to walk through them and find out there was no promise at all. To me, it's more like God doesn't care to follow through.

The faith that I seek is faith in myself. If I had to name a single goal of my spiritual pursuits, it's to eliminate all personal doubt in my life.

If it's as easy as visualizing or focusing on something, why do you think most people are not doing it already?
It seems if you don't have faith in god, you will suffer ill will. If you do have faith in god, you will have the power to heal those who suffer ill will. Huh? What's god up to?

I also seek faith in myself but haven't really experienced 'faith'. What would it mean to you to have faith in yourself?
