What do you think about this?

My son (whose 10) had chriskringle at school in his scripture class. We got the recipient of his gift some lego, beautifully wrapped with a bow etc. My son is very thoughtful and generous and his recipient loved the gift. My son's giver on the other hand obviously hadn't given the matter any thought at all, and her mother must have pulled a bag of chocolates out of the pantry and presented this as a gift ot my son, unwrapped. They were told the gift ought to cost between $5 to $20. He was the only child to not receive a toy/tangible gift as opposed to a perishable!

He was devestated that evening he cried himself to sleep saying nobody loves me, everyone hates me that's why I got a **** gift.

The next day at school was Year 6 fun day, where they had to take money to school to spend on these circuit things and fundraise basically. I sent both my boys to school with some money. My 10 year old went to the bathroom and found $20 on the floor. Which he kept and spent at the fun day in addition to the money I had given him.

When I explained that the proper and right thing to do is to hand it in to a teacher, because some other child might have missed out on the fun day activities, he replied:

"I thought that mum. But I thought am I meant to hand it in or spend it, and I felt that I ought to spend it because I felt good about that and didn't feel bad in my belly. I thought my angels had sent me the $20 to make up for the bad chriskringle gift that I got and that they wanted me to have it".

Can't argue with that logic then can I? So I agreed yes that could very well have been the case, but next time regardless, you hand it in.

i think the angels let him find that money and that the money was meant for him.... =)

I agree with Rena. If you go by the belief of no such thing as coincidence, then who is to say that money wasn't meant for your son to find?

It is quite probable that the $20 was a "gift from above"

I understand your thoughts on giving the $20 to a teacher, but I suspect it was the circle of life at play. Perhaps it was the cheap kid who lost the $20?

Yes he's learned it from me :) It's funny though, because whilst I apply synchronicity in my life, it blew me away how much my kids had absorbed from me, and then I felt torn between the morality and the spirituality... ah philosophy ... but that's for another post :)
