GLOSSARY: I is for "I am"

I would like this to be a thread of definitions - not debates, not proselytizing - simply definitions - your own definition. Simply and concisely define what the phrase "I am" means to you. If you use a quotation, then include your own interpretation of that quotation.

AND

Give an example or two of what that would look like in ordinary life.

I just wish you had used A for I Am so that they would spell out DREAMS.

I am has a lot of connotations. In the Bible, it says that God revealed himself - after a long wresting match with Moses. Symbolically, I can accept this to mean that Moses came to see himself as being one with and equal with God. Nice.

I think the philosopher Renee Descartes also used a similar idea in his thesis of "I think, therefor I am" - so pretty!

And Neil Diamond steals the show for me on this one in his song "I am a solitary man" - so many diamonds, so many stars, they all shine bright to me as I am. I also tend to think that you become what you think you are. It was a complicated question. :-)

"I" is for Am... just leave off the "I".
