Hello, fears from my own past life include being swept away by currents and drowning, running out of time for something, and being late for something.

this is gonna sound awful, but when I was a kid, I used to dream that I was being skinned by a straight edge knife, under my kitchen table....

Hmm last night I was trying to remember my childhood fears, specifically-- the very strange, specific ones. I remember always having the impulse to throw myself out of a moving car (at a very young age), even attempting to do so.. feeling that the driver was going to drive over a bridge into a lake.
And there was another fear, that of being locked into a wooden, weighted crate and thrown of a ship into the sea and drowning to death.
I also have had dreams of standing on the edge of a cliff, watching helplessly as somebody tumbles down, and later, throwing myself into the sea while mourning.

EDIT: Oh god, I just remembered-- perhaps I was just a very mentally ill child, but I remember between the ages of 10-12, becoming periodically convinced that my family were cannibals. Or rather that they were simply keeping me placated until they decided to consume me. I felt stalked in my own home, despite their demeanor being normal. It would keep me up at night. It was a visceral fear-- maybe it's related to a verrrrry very distant memory of being an animal or something of that sort.

....Ah, yes, the perfect lighthearted topic to ponder over breakfast

When I was a really little kid (age 3-6), for some bizarre reason I was utterly fascinated with the idea of being shot. I used to concoct kiddie-dramas which ended up with me being shot. I wasn't exactly scared of it, just darkly fascinated. My parents happily indulged my fantasies by pretending to shoot me when I was innocently walking an invisible dog....

Fast-forward fifty years into the future...
Someone shot at me and my dog in a horrible northern UK city in 2009 from a red car...a drive-by. They missed both of us. The bullet ricocheted from the kerb and it was shocking but did us no harm.

Possibly my fear of large dogs. I was terrified of being bitten by them as a child. I'm not scared of them anymore, but I often feel uneasy around them and can't connect with them.

Wow, reading through this thread was illuminating and also makes me wonder if there is something wrong with me.
I have no fear of anything, not even death. I've been stabbed, in shoot outs with enemies and Police. Even been shot at by prison guards.

So question: is it wrong not having any fear at all?

No, it's not unusual to have no fear of physical death or injury. Particularly if you have had several brushes with death as you've noted. I think this realisation is liberating and brings wisdom. But being human, typically there are still other arenas within which we may experience fear of some kind, typically involving the darkness within and how we engage it or approach it within ourselves and others.

Many don't fear death or injury, but of course this is less painful than enduring torture or many other forms of primarily mental, emotional, and/or spiritual suffering. Even so, you may not fear torture, so much as you may dread or dislike torture -- more for the effects on the psyche and the soul than for the pain or suffering per se.

Similarly, perhaps your fear may be more one of succumbing to a weakness or vulnerability (such as a perhaps taste for blood, for revenge, for control, or for torture or sadism). Perhaps it's not a visceral fear so long as you do not allow yourself to indulge in these things...otherwise, they may become you (i.e., they may start to look and feel good on you) in the end, as you develop a taste for the rush or for the power.

Or you may have a fear for others' wellbeing and/or of your inability to help, heal, or aid. This is a very common fear. Again, it may not become visceral unless tragedy strikes someone you love, or unless you are otherwise confronted with your failure(s).

Grace and faith, along with awareness and taking responsibility for one's intent, thought, word, and deed are great aids in allowing your fear to teach you and to lead you to deeper insight on yourself and who you really are at core. Rather than allowing your fear to rule you blindly, however it may manifest.

If you have no fear of any kind, at any level...then someone may need to check you for batteries

Peace & blessings,
7L

I used to be horrified and scared of spiders. Not the little ones....the big ones. Really afraid.
Living in the countryside for many many years took that away, so I feel some sort of empathy with them now.

I began to see they are equally as scared of us and vowed to do them no harm, then began to feel kindly towards them.

I now keep a whole stack of spiders in my house. They are as messy as teenagers. I have to clean up after them! But I take time to watch their ways, and they do no harm (except if you're a fly! haha)

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a nonlinear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

That is to say, some of your phobias may have been gotten from future lives too.
