Meaning of "Be Still"
My instructions from spirit at this point in my life are to "be still"
What does it mean exactly to be still .... I know this isn't necessarily a black or white answer ... or the answer may be different for different people, but I'm curious as to what everyone thinks "being still" might mean.

I feel it means to let go of any need to control circumstances and outcomes, and just let things go their natural course. I would take it as a suggestion to take a step back from where you're at, sit down, and just go with the flow.

No such thing as 'being still'. That is the first step, IMO, of discovering stillness.
Being still would require you to 'try' and be still. It would require a 'desire' to be still. That is not stillness IMO.
I feel that coming to know who we are, and by that I mean the story of who we are, will eventually lead you to a clear mind, one that is naturally still.

It means notice how not still you are, how nearly impossible it is to be still and in that realization become still.

"Be Still and know that I am God" psalm 46.10
I take that to be to quit striving and become quiet in mind, to become the observer of what is real.

To me... it's something that can be talked about, but only in tandum with a sound meditation practice, because the words can't make sense in absence of the experience.

I agree with what Fire stated.
In addtion, while letting go of control and focusing too much on "directing" your intentions, it also means to be in the moment and to look inside of you, instead of always searching out.
Be whole in yourself.

For me it means, notice the stillness that is already and always here in your inner being... beyond the busy mind. It's true meditation.
