FORGIVE ME
I am sorry to have led you astray.
Putting ideas and dreams into your head.
Of things to do and places to go.
All so exciting .
Waitng at the starting line
For the word 'go'
But one thing led to another
as we watch that dream fade
over the horizon
like a ship away from shore.
the wind of the moment
blew us here
and blew us there.
So many stars to steer us by
They all look the same
How many promises have I given you
Too many when they are not kept
even if it was a few.
So much time has past.
You will never pilot that fighter
You will never design that plane
You will never Have that family
and the children held when they were babies.
Out at sea
you ride the waves
between dark seas
and blue skies
I am sorry
unforfilled promises
are no better than lies
