where i live the 'short bus' is used by people with 'special needs'... maybe they live
off from the main line, or have a wheelchair, or something else distinguishing.
it could be that your dream was showing that everyone in your group has had
'special needs' in some way, and that each is to be met and accommodated.

i'm thinking that the bus was delivering people to some 'promised land', removed
from the worries of life that've been experienced by most. the 'bridge' from the old
ways of life to the new sensibilities may be temporary... which accounts for the
"warning" given to those who choose to exit early, when London Bridge is played.
