I entered a programme to sponsor a child to put them through their education. I was offered various places around the world, but I told them " it has to be Africa..preferably Kenya...but certainly Africa". They didn't have a current scheme in Kenya at that moment in time so I sponsored a little girl in Malawi. Ellen. She was 9 at the time, and I put her through her education , which she completed age 16. We wrote to each other and was a very emotional experience for me. It made me think back to when I was a little girl, and world aid would leave a little envelope through the door , for you to put a donation in. They also left a little booklet , full of portrait images of young African children. The idea being you gave a donation and tore a picture out to keep. My mother gave the booklet to me and my brother to choose a picture. Well. What can I say!!! Me and my brother spent all week "poring" over this booklet..looking at all the children, whittling it down , both liking different ones. But obviously I got my way ( being the eldest!) , And I can still see, more than 50 years later , the little boy that I chose. He was beautiful, with a big beaming smile. When we presented our choice to our mother, she tore it out of the book and stood it on the mantlepiece so we could all see it. Of course being children , we were impatient to know " when he get here?".... The moment we were told " he won't, we just get to keep his picture " was probably the most crushing time of my young life.

I've always felt strongly drawn to Italy. History, music, culture. I spontaneously cried multiple times when I was there.

Africa is interesting. I was close to a nature trip to Africa for this spring but coronavirus has ruined my plans..

Hi.... And it is so very strange .. and I mean very strange that you say that because even though I am not "drawn" there as in maybe past life connections, Italy is the place I would choose to visit, if let's say I won a competition. It's beautiful. It's a place I would love to explore. Isn't it lovely how we cry over sheer beauty. Arts.. in any form that can move us to tears because it is beautiful beyond words is so very important. It touches the soul. Also how strange you were planning trip to Africa!!!

Hello Elfin. Yeah, I wanted to help with ranger projects. Oh well.. will do that anyway, if not this season than another or next year.
I also love tears that arise from seeing beauty. Makes you feel alive in a different sort of way.

Good for you, and if you are destined to help with ranger projects you will get there..... I always think that when sheer beauty/ beautiful artwork/ poetic words/ or meaningful music makes you cry, these are tears of the soul...

I don't know if it's past life related, but the Mediterranean Sea would be a destination I would like to see. My ancestors are from the countries surrounding that sea....and I have started following their diet, for health reasons. It's done wonders, btw.

I am drawn to Angkor which some claim is the largest 'religious' site in the World (over 400 square kilometres).

The Buddhist Temple I am drawn to for 'worship' is the Temple of the Dawn.

Another place is along the San Pedro River in Arizona, USA. Especially between Contention City and Charleston. I have walked the Indian trails ....... and wondered.

Hi. Logic tells me we are drawn to places for a reason, otherwise we wouldn't be drawn to them. It's very interesting and actually quite telling I think that not only were you drawn to somewhere , you adapted your diet in connection with those places and became healthier as a result. That's really quite something.
