three mirrors, bad luck?
I remember hearing once that it is bad luck to place three mirrors in space where they are able to reflect off of each other making a triangle pattern if you will. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Myth or truth?

This superstition comes from the fact that sometimes the triangle is used as a summoning symbol. Usually, you can expect the medium to carry out the summoning from the safety of a circle.
I have gotten the above from Google... but I'm not qualified enough to say if there is any truth to the superstition or not. Hopefully, someone better qualified than me will be along shortly.

Don't think I'm better qualified, lol but in our family it's not good to have a mirror facing another mirror or even a window.

Olivia13 - I don't know about 3 mirrors, but know that as far as Feng Shui goes having two mirrors facing each other will bounce energy back and forth, potentially creating a tense, frantic atmosphere. I can imagine 3 reflecting against one another would be 3-fold more frantic.

Interesting? I've never heard of the two mirror thing. But yeah, I was trying to remember more about the three mirror issue and I think it had something to do with portals and such. Freaked out a little, but its prob just some myth thing. But I'm prob still not going to do it! lol

Sometimes in order to keep people away, some things were labeled as unlucky or information got distorted so people had fear to approach and take a closer look to understand it. I.e. black cats, friday 13th, witches etc.
What you describe sounds rather quite helpful as a tool.

Speaking of mirrors and portals, there is a past life regression cd, think by Brian Weiss and in the meditation he mentions 3 mirrors and choosing one to walk into, back to a past life. Sorry, doesn't really answer your question of hanging 3 mirrors together being bad luck ......

Could you explain why it is not good to have a mirror facing a window? My dresser mirror is right in front of my window and my bed is located under that window. Am I in the crossfire of something?  |

Oh....one of my most fascinating games when I was a little kid, and even now -come to think of it. I put 2 mirrors at an angle to each other and view corridors of reflections going round corners into a trackway which I am intrigued by! Doing it with 3 mirrors is even more interesting!
Well...I had no idea of 'bad luck' just enjoyed looking at the reflections
