Elephant

There was an elephant in another room. Somebody needed to clean under its ears. However, there was a worker who I guess was reluctant to do so as it seemed to be a risky activity. I offered to do it, took the cleaning solution, then went into the room. It was a baby elephant, which was currently asleep on its side and chained up to the floor. The room didn't seem to be a very pleasant environment. There was also something about a threat of people pursuing me and something about a cell phone. It might be that they could find me using the phone. I'm not sure as that part of the dream has become a blur, but the threat also seemed to be connected to the elephant. By helping it, I believe it made me a target.

I realised as I neared the elephant that there was a risk of it waking and attacking, which is why this was a risky task. Fortunately, I was able to do what I needed to do. I sedated it, released it from its chains, and then proceeded to clean under its ears. I was able to then leave the room and confirm that the task was successfully completed.

I suppose a few obvious things that come to mind include 'the elephant in the room' much like the saying. There was also the emphasis on ears, which included the cell phone. I'm not sure about the symbolism of the elephant, but it being a calf / baby elephant perhaps suggests something that isn't fully grown or isn't as big of a threat as it could be. I'm not sure. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
