She finds pink and green tourmaline very helpful, but especially the pink. These are stones she uses when awake. She has horrible shoulder pain that the pink takes care of miraculously--when nothing else will.

I have found amethyst conducive to trying to sleep. I think it's the vibration of the stone itself, that keeps me awake. There are many stones that are like that when trying to sleep.
I have found rose quartz to be helpful with getting restful sleep. I don't recall if it actually helped in falling asleep or if it's benefits were felt after being asleep.

OK so that should help give you some choices. Using one that is in both pain and sleep should compound the effects and you will get the most bang for your buck, well your sister will. Are her pains muscular, the joints, or just the bones in general? With that information I could provide you some more options used in that specific type of pain. I suggest giving her the list I created for you and highlight the ones that fall under more than one category and she should pick which one of those call out to her the most. Her intuition should be able to refine that list down to a few or one or two and then she can research those to find out if it is right for her. If none of the ones that fall under two categories or more are right then you guys could always buy her two stones and use them both in conjunction with one another. A lot of the stones on those lists are very abundant and cheap so money shouldn't be an issue. I have used Lapis Lazuli in the past for pain and it has worked rather well and that is one of the stones in both sleep and pain categories.

I did give her some lepidolite, but she said it does nothing for her. Maybe the stone I gave her isn't high quality... I think she got another recently that she liked better. I will suggest that one.
Thanks.

I also have problems sleeping (and yes, Lavender oil does often help quite a bit!) but to add to that list Astral Explorer, I have also heard that Howlite is good for insomnia?? I don't have any Howlite at the minute though, so can't tell you whether it does or not. :)
Wishing your sister good luck with finding relief from her sleeping problems and pain Dee47!

Perhaps also check out Aragonite Star Clusters! They're good for centering, and also help with pain.
Chamomile is another oil, which I used for shoulder pain ~ using a carrier oil, and rubbing some in after being woken up.
