I think I have explained in the post, earlier, about the referees. My country that I come from do not have the culture of referees, there you are often not even asked, and if some do they gladly accept friends fx. Here, they must have proffessional. The few that Ive explained it for and accepted didnt took me anyway here.(one even said they were very interested)
And being a year and a half away since the move, and none even remember me at "old" work in my former country(and the last one was even out of reach for other reasons as well) Im kinda stuck. It seems to me, the only solution is doing job for free. I live in Uk.

mmm sometimes volunteering is a way of getting a paid position ... I got paid work in the UK and didn't have any referees in that country so it is possible. They are still calling out for relief workers in residential care settings .. you could possibly try an organization like 'United Response' which you can google. Some organizations are willing to keep your resume on file even though they dont have any advertised positions at the time ... its worth a try Marie :)

oh ok well if you have a degree + nursing I am sure there is paid work there for you. The residential care home i worked for used an agency for relief workers which was called 'Nurses Direct' ... there will be many agencies like that one. Just make sure when you speak with them that you tell them you have your passport + statements of attainment to show that you are trained. Yes, the one i mentioned before is called 'United Response' ... here is the link for their website plus another one for relief nurses ... let me know how you go :)...

Ive already applied for the first one, they had two jobs in my area. I dont have a car yet naturally, it is the plan that we will get one as soon as I have a job. my hubby sold his since he works so close he can walk and he was alone at the time. But he does have a drivers license, which I must obtain as well.. (where I came from you have exellent communications and really dont need a car unless it is really necessary)
Ive applied for them both, it said the last date for apply was 5th sept, but I took a chance, anyway. gonna apply for the other tomorrow since its late here and Im off to bed. Thank you so much for trying to help. That is very kind of you and I appreciate it. Im stuck where I am and at the house Im in,and with struggles until I get a job. My hubby tries to get extra work, but it is hard neithertheless to be two ppl on one salary, especially when you need to pay room for both and food, and whatever comes, since I came with nothing. I even had to leave my clothes behind, most of it. Thank you again.
I had no clue it would be so hard with references in Uk. I hope it will work!

I wrote them and asked if they -firstly- have any jobs in my area, since Im immobile if its not by public transportations for now, so it must be around where I live. Second I asked them about if they would accept me on the personal references I have and no proffessional. (which is my hubby and a friend, hes had his own company though, that should be something) better be honest right away. what Ive seen is the most dont want medical history and or proof but this one did. No problem though, but it would be a problem,if they would require me to take injections. I am against injections, since I view it as damaging and they prop every kind of bad things in it. fx with the HN1. which was a fake. but thousands took it and now are carriers.
I wonder also, what they would do since I havent registred at a doc here yet,and only been to doc where i come from. its on its way though. but injections, never. I fail nothing.
( a matter of life and death is another story)
I had one agency that I never could make appointments with and that sent me job offers and asked me to contact them, and then I couldnt get in touch, and they never responded. Its amazing how ppl can behave,in Uk. that was an agency by the way. My hubby says they are baad here.

I got a reply from directnursing that they cant accept my references if its not one of them that are "proffessional",and give me the same that everyone else says, that it has to be one youve worked for and the last one. They also said it is LAW in Uk that you HAVE to have 1 proffesional reference.(many in my area of work demands two and say its two)
so,I have nothing to get there. And they had also only jobs in Wales, which is far away from where I live. The other one Ive applied for two jobs. Didnt say anything about references in my application though. I shouldve done. I went into the redcross about volonteers, and I read in two volonteer offers that they wanted references too. So I dont know if they demand that from all. It seems to me that redcross can be hard,as well! See what gates Im facing all the time. I hope that I can find other volonteerjobs that WONT demand references. or jobs.

sorry to hear you are having such problems with the references Marie, but try looking at things from the other side of the fence. If you were the person hiring people for a job, working in a health care situation, wouldn't you want to have references on this person, to get an idea if they were qualified and a good worker, good character, etc ?

maybe there is some kind of other job you can look for that doesn't require references such as working in a store of some kind, a restaurant ? Maybe ask your angels or spirit guides for help in finding you a job, if you are open to the idea of asking them?

Dream Angel xx

Hi again Marie
You may have already mentioned it but what is stopping you from putting down the details of your past employers so that they can be contacted by phone? Maybe it would help for you to contact them yourself before going for anymore jobs and ask if they will send a written reference to your new address for you.
