Animal rescuers are to be prosecuted

Hiroshi Hoshi and his son have bravely gone countless times into the restricted zone near Fukushima in order to rescue pets which were left behind after the nuclear reactor disaster. IMHO, they deserve a medal for their efforts. The Japanese authorities think otherwise and have put them in detention and refused bail pending trial.

Please read this article: http://www.globalanimal.org/2013/03/...charges/93861/

If you feel that this is unjust, please sign the petition mentioned there.

What concerns me most is the long term effects of the disaster on the animals mentioned and also the people. The mutation effect of the nuclear disaster to be precise.
Those who have been at the mountains of Ukrain, and Chernobyl will know exactly what I mean.
So, I can also see the reason why bravely & compassionate they maybe, Hiroshi Hoshi and his son are being condened off the area.
I feel for the animals but God knows what more close exposure would do to these guys and their future children, I find it a worry.

Oh, this amazing pair who are rescuing the poor animals! They do deserve a medal for sure. I wish I was there, and I would give them a hand!
They may have broken government rules, but they have upheld the Law....of Love and Compassion! I hope there will be others who will step in to assist while they are detained.
I have signed.

Yes Niebla, it is a worry. But those animals can't be just left to suffer and starve. The government should have asked for a volunteer rescue mission. Those who step in would know the risks, and do it anyway

Yeah, I also think they deserve to be honored, not locked up. I totally support their release, too.
I love animals.
