Pendulums - Forum Newbie

Oh, cool! I do that, too. I've got lots of books of shadows I've made over the years and they're mostly diaries of readings as well, but also recordings of spells and rituals - like you said, candle colors, poetry or songs I've written to go with the spell, crystals used, etc. I also print out goddess art, Wiccan art, Pagan art and basically anything I want to include.

Ironically, I JUST ran out of pages in a couple journals and needed something to start anew in - just for recording tarot, oracle and pendulum readings though right now. I was digging around looking for a notebook and I happened to stumble upon this little mini journal from Doreen Virtue's Candle Blessings Kit. I had no idea I had it, had never seen it before or anything. It just jumped out at me off my bookshelf! Of course, at one time I had purchased the kit it came with so it's not like it appeared out of thin air or anything.

Anyway, it's really small, but right now that's just what I want. Sort of like a little pocket book just to record my readings in. I was so happy I found it

how do I use dowsing rods and pendlumns? I am taking an interest in this area.

Hiya! Well... Dowsing rods are generally used to find water, gold and oil below the ground. They're not used for divination too much as far as I know. Pendulums on the other hand are for divination. Basically, it's a weight on a chain/string of some sort. You hold it over your hand and you ask a question. If it's yes, the pendulum will swing one way. If it's no, the pendulum will swing in the opposite direction. So it's a way of getting yes/no answers. Here's a picture of what my pendulum looks like. It's rose quartz with chakra stones and the part you hold onto is a rose quartz heart:
