Living in ‘Oz’ – I do have a place of ‘pilgrimage’.

Not the Rock at the Centre – Uluru (which I also love) – but Chillagoe.

It is exactly the same deepest feeling of reverence I feel at these Ancient Rock formations.
My heart is suddenly unplugged open ….. “I” melts down on the spot and tears start to flow uncontrollably:

Practice does indeed come from one's beliefs ... and, as you duly noted, some of the practices in the OT are indeed very unloving.

That is my point.... Some Preachers stand in the Pulpit and preach ' Hell and damnation ' or ' LGBT people will burn in hell ' etc : then they walk outside of the Church and take their beliefs out into the Community and practice what they preach while a lot of their Parishioners follow the ' Man of God's ' teachings and put them into practice , something needs to be done about this, it causes unnecessary mental and sometimes physical pain for Families and has gone on for far to long.... IMO some beliefs border on Child Abuse and should be banned...

That would be instantly politicised with liberals warring with conservatives, who would love it. The government can just enforce the existing laws where there is physical abuse with heavy penalties and properly fund support for emotional wellbeing safety net which is needed anyway. things will change for the better in time what people believe in, its best for the state to trust people and only step in when they break a law it has to come from the heart

Why would you draw such a conclusion?

Are you saying those Christians that believe in the Old Testament, have beliefs
that encourage some to practice things that are unloving toward others?

Christians should realize that the Law foreshadowed something greater. When Jesus died,
the law was fulfilled. I suspect most Christians do not realize those two points.
