Visualizations

Hello:

I once read something on this forum about different visualizations that one can do that pertain to energy and/or chakras. I often visualize a spinning black and white disk on the top-rear of my head. I then imagine white light flowing into it and then ensconcing the entirety of my body. I do so in conjunction with asking that the divine white light be brought into my crown chakra. I have received positive results from this.

I read something on here once about visualizing an orange orb between one's eyes, with the orb increasing in size. I suppose that that is representative of the third eye. I have done that a fair amount, but do not know if it had much effect.

Please tell me if the methods that I have described doing are in any way valid and if I have been doing them correctly. Also, please tell me about any comparable visualizations that pertain to energy/chakras that I can do in my spare time, not really during meditation.

I like to visualize myself surrounded by White Light, as I go about my day, mostly while I am at home mind you. In the past I have visualized myself surrounded by White Light while I was out and about outside the house, whether it was at a store the movies going for a walk etc.

Is there any downside to covering oneself in the protective white light? I know that it acts as a shield for negative energy, but what of it preventing positive energy from reaching us?
