Can you sense which gender something is?

This question is quite hard to phrase, so let me explain.
I'm quite highly sensitive and I always get a sense of gender with things like plants, gemstones, tarot decks, colours, etc. Sometimes it's the same for each of a "kind", like all my three tiger eye gemstones are 'male', all my amethysts are 'female'. I know this is a real thing, with certain stones being yin and others yang. And I can tell by how they feel.
Especially with plants I notice that I feel that they are a certain gender, because I tend to refer to them (unconsciously at first) with gender specific pronouns and I found myself saying: 'He needs some more water,' or 'she needs some more sun'. I also give them names. When I see three of the same plants in a row, some of them feel 'male' and others feel 'female'.
Anyway, I was wondering whether this is just up to chance and not a 'real' thing, or whether this is something that you can actually feel if you are sensitive to energy.
I did some research and nothing metaphysical came up (obviously), and what I learned is that most plants are both genders. Yet I feel like one gender sticks out more than the other.
Do you get a sense of gender with things like this? Is it real?

Hi there.... It's real to you and that's all that matters. But you sound a bit like myself in as much that you "care".... I often wonder if carrots " know" and can feel when we peel , chop and boil them... Know it sounds stupid but these are the thoughts that I have... Because most things are "alive"....

That's it, no more carrots for me......... wonder if potatoes are ok - I speak to my plants, so I suppose I better check with them before I throw them in the pan x

This is a serious question: Do you have this gender feeling about people too? I mean if you can feel their "orientation".

Also, is there a "neutral" (neither female, nor male) gender you can detect on plants, gemstone, an others?

One way of looking at it, is something I heard related to animals killing each other for food, or leadership of a herd. Those who can perceive ("see") beyond the physical, they can see that while the physical body was killed, its non-physical counterpart "lives" on.

Nothing dies, and from a higher vantage point: "nobody suffers".

Hi, it's strange sometimes , the thought patterns we have. If Snowflake and I traded places I would then be wondering what gender the carrots were, probably splitting them up into groups of what I imagined were male, female and even children. Snowflake would be thinking " if I throw this crystal across the road, will it feel anything when it lands"...!! With regard to the other part , I do see beyond the physical and believe that the energy of the soul lives on. I see, feel, sense, and communicate with spirits.... But that's a different story.

There is a book published in the 1970s "The Secret Life of Plants" by Peter Tompkin and Christopher Bird. They conducted experiments by attaching plants to a polygraph, and found that plants reacted not just to events in the physical environment but also to the thoughts and intentions of people in the room.

In the Alice Bailey teachings it is said that part of the karma of the vegetable kingdom is to provide food for the higher animal and human kingdoms. In this sacrifice the life force of the vegetable kingdom is transmuted and evolves.
