Why could it not be that outer evil causes that suffering for everyone else? Can one not CAUSE the suffering of someone else? Who causes the suffering of something like genocide? Did the Jews bring it upon themselves or did the Nazis cause their suffering?

Earth is a dynamic planet undergoing constant change, some of it good for some species and bad for others. It's because of that dynamism it's such a diverse and wondrous planet.

There's no need to look for external reasons for the cause of suffering outside of that caused by natural events either. One need only look into the hearts of humans, each and every one of us. There's great capacity for both good and bad and aside from sociopaths and psychopaths, the people who deny that simple fact the hardest are the very people capable of inflicting the most suffering on themselves and others.

So we either take responsibility and endeavor to make the world a better place starting with ourselves, or wait for some external intervention which will most likely never materialize.
