only thing that sux is i live in a very busy place... only outdoors i have constant access to is my garden of which still has dogs running around and hear the neighbours in the complex etc... but i will try give it a go.

the only other sad part is here in SA the land has never really given me the sense of belonging... not like it did when i felt like i was in a magical world when i visited England 8 years ago...
my line comes from the European countries and since i was small always loved the place even before i got to go there.

It is however not easy for me to move there so i do feel i should try open up myself more to where i currently am. I think that would have to be my first step.

One thing that could be useful. The only thing I know about SA is what I see in Nature programmes but it does look magnificent. Is there a place outside of where you are, within easy reach, which strikes a chord inside you ?
If so, you could take that as your place and learn all about it but bring a little bit of it back home [ a rock or something like that ] Put it in a special niche and do your daily meditations there. The idea is to forge a link with your "place" outside. Photographs would also be a good thing if they can bring out memories to lose yourself in.

tbh the last time i was out side of the main city for a get-away must be about 4 years ago... perhaps this calls for a small trip somewhere :)
