Using the sense of touch?
Hi,
I wondered it this was a useful twist on the theme?
I used a lump of tree bark, which I find very tactile.
My point is the focus doesn't need to be visible or audible one?

It is not uncommon to use the sense of touch of the legs and feet at the areas where they touch the ground, assuming your are doing sitting meditation.

I think a sensational focus is as good if not better, for example, breath meditation is remaining aware of the sensation caused by breathing.

That reminds me of the MIR-Method, it's mentioned on another thread. You stroke your hand while saying affirmations, the tactile stimulation is said to calm down and make your Subconscious receptive.

But 'touch' (the sensation of breathing) is what one focuses on in breath meditation.
I think the idea of meditating on the texture of bark is a most novel idea.

I use mala beads and sometimes I use acupressure points to direct my flow of Qi.
