what did you do when you realized you cant talk to your TF/SC anymore?

Well, I added my (possible) SC on FB about three weeks ago. He popped up when I added a mutual coworker as someone I may know from his friends list (and ONLY his friend's list), and that NEVER EVER happens when I add someone. Anyways, afterwards, I wrote him a message asking if he was mad at me at the company picnic, because he blatantly ignored me. He said he didn't remember ignoring me (I don't know how that's possible), but he apologized if he did. I was half asleep when I got the response and just wrote "lol ok." Well, shortly after, I get a message from his GF/Mother of his son asking how I knew him. We had a little convo, and she seemed like a really respectable person... she said she didn't want to assume anything and wanted to ask for herself.

Well shortly after that, I deleted him. I feel even if we talked as acquaintances or friends, anything I say would make her uncomfortable... and I didn't want to make her feel like that. I feel like the question didn't insinuate we had something going on (which we don't)

Anyways, in your situation.... if you are in this situation.... what did you do when u realized you can't talk to them anymore? I kind of don't want to break the energetic tie, because I feel our connection is kinda important... but did you do anything else? I would rather not think about him.
