In the UK those same girls/ women would have some freedoms to discover who they are in society - have relationships & vote.

My America is 1980's America- big cars, burgers, muscles & boobs yet we found out that a lot of it was essentially fake - myself & my friends took it less seriously after that.

Now you have youngsters led by old socialist teachers "demanding" all sorts as if their lives are as harsh or unprivileged as their grandparents.

I fear for your country, victim hood appears to have become a status symbol. As fake as 80's America was - nobody wanted to be a victim.

Your attitude is delightful however & I wish there was more of it on this forum & out there in the world.

We can't all be rich or talented but it doesn't stop us having enriched lives as long as we take responsibility for ourselves & perhaps keeps away from those whom simply won't listen to reason.

Hey there Crystal :) You got that right! AND to be alive in the 21st century in the West and not some other place, in all honesty.

For years, I studiously avoided anything to do with past lives, too painful with all the death and betrayals and such. But at a certain point, I absolutely had to deal with it, difficult as it was. I needed to go forward and I didn't want to live where I was, so I had to buck up and dive in.

I have to say, as difficult as it has been privately, it was a HUGE relief at the soul level. To know I've met my work and my challenges there, that I can actually sort it now, and that I can take decisions that feel right to me from a place of greater clarity and awareness. So not all bad, just all tough

Peace & blessings

But I do not really like to think of that too too much. Higher self.

It makes things perhaps a little more difficult getting used to this skin, with the information I have on one of my past lives. It has been the only past life I have been able to remember so far, and that life I was male, if you believe in that sort of thing.

I actually have been having a blast lately telling one of my male friends that I am a errr homosexual male in a female body. I love it, because he starts to argue with me. "No you're not" He tells me. "In case you haven't noticed your a girl". I respond "You think so"? He says he knows so and it is called anatomy.

Recently another male friend of ours had came visiting and again I said something like "Well I am actually a male in a female body so that would make sense". I said this during the course of conversation. I said "You wouldn't understand that though". He said "Yeah I get it, in a past life right?" I told told him "Yes." In which he responded "Yeah- Name of our friend- told me". I then started to crack up laughing, I got a real kick out of that one.

I asked, "You mean to tell me he is going around claiming this about me?" He responded "He is telling people this is something you told him".

I responded that I wished I could see the look on their faces.

As for how comfortable I am being me, well I am not entirely sure. I do not go about my daily living asking myself how comfortable I am being me, or in this body. I am busy attending to daily living and all it entails. As to how I feel in a female body am I comfortable? Well no. I feel male. It is difficult to be myself when I am expected to be lady like....

When I cursed when younger my aunt would love to admonish me that "That is not lady like you shouldn't swear"! I really don't care if it is lady like or not.... that is the best reason she could give for not cursing? It isn't lady like? I honestly asked her what that has to do with it.

Or the time I had a man tell me it isn't lady like to speak like a guy or so aggressively to him. I told him the same thing I told my friend. I told him it is entirely in character for me to speak aggressively as I had to him as I am a homosexual male in a female body...

I then asked "So what if I told you that?" He told me he didn't believe me, I asked further "And? Were you looking for me to prove it to you or something..."?

He then told me speaking like a male didn't make me attractive as a female.

Excellent.

Hey there Saturn!
I totally get that you have your own perspective on who you are and that it does not fit a stereotype and good on you. I believe pretty strongly that it's everyone's right to be who they are, just as they are, and to be accepted and supported as they live their own truth, harming none. I also believe your recollection of your past life memories and impressions -- often it is either the last life, or else one that made a strong impression on you, so that you can recall it even if you haven't dug into it.

I also think it is very common to have a guide that presents one way and you are currently incarnated as the opposite gender. My guardian spirit presents as an adult male in his prime with bushy brown hair, resonant with the bear spirit - I have been men and women in past lives and I have a clear sense of myself in most of them. Only a few where there was a lot of physical hardship and/or emotional trauma are very spotty memory wise.

TBH I think it is rather obnoxious and patronising when someone says this or that is "not ladylike" or "unattractive" or that your manner is "aggressive" -- or any other disparaging label, as if it's their right to label you in any fashion No one needs controlling, disparaging, unsolicited advice about "how to be" that is personally directed at them. And I love your reaction ;) -- which shows that you are grounded and OK with who you are -- good on you!

It comes across that the gent and those like this are trying to passively groom you and shame you or whomever into whatever they're looking for as sexual stimulation, so that you can be controlled and so that you look to him for affirmation of your being and whether or not you are "attractive", "ladylike" and "submissive" (not "aggressive"), etc. That is definitely not your problem or any other woman's (assuming he's straight), and it's really quite inappropriate IMO for him to put that on you or on any woman as if any of that is your concern.

You are attractive in many ways AS YOU ARE to those who love you and care about you as a person. To those who tell you that you need to be a certain way in order to be "attractive", etc., etc., don't believe it for a moment, hahaha!!! Fact is, it's just largely all about control and domination for some folks, but they'd be physically attracted to you regardless.

Peace & blessings

The US, like the UK (and others), are in many ways fighting a battle for their own integrity and the integrity of their representative democracy and their democratic institutions.
Likewise, different decades embody different esthetics and philosophies (for example, the 80s was the era of greed and Wall Street excess)

-- but like race or gender or height, (etc), no one can change their national origin, nor the diff eras that they span in their lifetime.

IMO we owe folks of all nationalities and backgrounds and generations, men and women both, our courtesy and our respect.
Even if of course we may not care for all the actions of our own government nor those of others, nor for all that has gone down in history, and all that.

In this way, we all all from somewhere and thus we are all equally available as objects of ridicule, scorn, disparagement, and mockery, particularly from a distance.
But in the spirit of reaching for the best of humanity. we are equally able to move beyond this and focus on core obstacles and core solutions.

Granted, it is of course difficult and time-consuming to work together and to honor one another and find sustainable solutions to various issues that benefit all and exclude and disparage none --
but IMO it is the only way forward for humanity. And we are capable of all this and more, IMO, as well.

Peace & blessings

I do past life work or ancestral linage stuff every now and then if it comes up. Over all though I don't dwell too much in those energies as I'm a big fan of Present Moment/this life/this Now.
There are times though when its called for though..... then it's knuckle down and do it.

Is this meant as a response to my own - your using most of my talking points?

Am I just as free to respond or will that be met by offense?

Hey there Crystal :)
LOL! Yes, what fell to me to do was my own spiritual work, what came next on the journey when I was ready to knuckle down.
It's been very much about one's own spiritual healing and it's great you mentioned healing. For me, the sticky wicket it wasn't ancestral healing per se, but more simply me and where I've been in other lives.

When folks speak of this, we often say "past" but in a sense it's still so present. It's just what's out there floating around right now across all our incarnations that we've not dealt with. What I've found for myself is that it's all present in this lifetime, right here and now, but that it's usually been avoided or attributed to various other things -- which makes perfect sense to the average person. Because we often just can't sort it without the necessary insight, which can be difficult and grueling to come by. I couldn't sort it all, and it was a real obstacle for me -- not to forgiveness but to my own healing.

In fact, I was saddened to realise that love and forgiveness all round helped but didn't bring anywhere near full healing in one situation which was tied to these past lives...I was spent and numb for ages and it was a real drag. I needed insight and wisdom on the situation, along with the love and forgiveness. Of course, being oriented to healing, like you, I found a workaround, a huge source of strength in equanimity...limitless really, though it too needs balanced. But still, I hadn't even adequately healed my heart centre till I got to a certain level of insight and a certain breadth of perspective across many different lives.

That critical insight was not something I uncovered all on my own, like mining for gold. It was the mutual "work product" of me, my closest soul fam (huge props there), and the guides (same). I am the lucky beneficiary, since I couldn't have come by all this on my own and frankly I've absolutely no issue with that. Much of what we need to do for ourselves is also what we need to do for one another, and for humanity as a whole I am humble and deeply grateful and yet also stronger and more confident than ever...because I feel I'm seeing ever more the way forward for all of us.

What I can better see now is much more clearly how some things (which seem intractable, or otherwise confusing or inexplicable) are directly a result of baggage brought forward. Because that is the natural result of what happens. Everyone comes forward with all their stuff to right here and right now, but only some are aware of the root causes. Loads of it is not at all from this present lifetime -- probably the lion's share -- and I saw for myself how there were things that could not be understood without getting clear on the root baggage. So it was a real eye opener and I could finally move forward into that fuller place of healing.

Regarding ancestral healing, yes -- it can have truly amazing uses for populations that have suffered across generations, what we would call for long ages. To me, that means ancestral healing is also the work of humanity at large, because a good bit of it is really at the collective level where folks have operated as a part of a power-over group or they have suffered as a part of an oppressed group. Though being a stubborn lot, humanity does often require compassionate and insightful facilitators to extend and hold the circle of belonging and I can see where you play a critical role

(Interestingly, too, IMO, ancestral healing of just a few gens may also be past-life related in some way.)

Always a pleasure!
Peace & blessings

That was Just Beautiful 7L I really felt your love, gratitude and appreciation all the way from way over here *wink*
No man/woman is an island indeed. And what a relief it is too!
We really do stand on the shoulders of giants don't we? :)

All this work we do, shining Light into our unconscious area's, moving into like and love with ourselves so we can authentically love others - cuts inroads into the collective consciousness making it easy for others to choose the same and follow.
I thank Jesus for being one of the great pioneers in paving the way for Love and Self as Other as the next expansion of conscious evolution and before him Buddha for laying down the nuero pathways for Peace, Centeredness and compassion.
There are many other Giants who have blazed the trail, many who's names we'll never know but whom added to the evolution of Consciousness and the Illumination of Love as Way of Life.
The biggest thing we can do is get right with ourself as they did, learn what we really are and that we spring from the very Source of Love. When we stand in sovereignty within that self realization - the ripples spread out from us, touching others, illuminating something in them, helping them to find the Path back to Healing and Wholeness, even as we caught the ripples from others.
It's all sort of beautifully amazing isn't it?
The Quantum Field is so ingenious - it contains all possibility, including Wonder of the highest scale. :)

I love your use of the word equanimity, what a biggie that is! When we can step away from ego's need to be right, to have its way, to be heard, be seen, when we begin to find the discourse more interesting than the opinions, unity more desirable than division, see all points of view and the value in them without needing to take a side or stance - we begin to come into peace with ourselves and thus everyone else...and what a lovely Journey that begins!
