Easing Symptoms of Empathy?
After wondering for a quite a while, I did some research and recently concluded I am indeed an empath. The clincher was when I read two articles - one about social anxiety in empaths and another about "30 traits of an empath". I've had severe social anxiety most of my life, and every trait on that list fit me except for 1. What I'm wondering, however, is how to ease some of the afflictions I've gotten from this. There's the anxiety of course, and the panic attacks. Then there's the violent mood swings - from happy to sad to angry and back again. I'm treated for bipolar depression but it still happens. Then there's the pain. I have fibromyalgia, it's constant pain all over my body. And the digestive issues... IBS. The article suggested to try grounding your Solar Plexus for that, but I haven't tried that yet. Does anyone have any other advice for any of these issues? Does anyone have similar issues?

Start by grounding like crazy. Even if you wanted to, you body is not able to let go of all the cosmic gunk you pick up from others. When I ground, I will do something like progressive relaxation, to make my body receptive to the work I'm going to do. Then I focus on each chakra, starting from root and working up. I visualize wave pushing the energy down, almost like a broom on the sand. You're not sweeping all the sand, just the leaves and twigs on top. The sand filters through and in the same way, your own positive energy will stay with you. Go one at a time until that spot feels lighter in color, and not like it's pulling you to the floor anymore.
Once you are clear there, you can focus on any specific aches and pains, if there are any left, like a knot in your back, or a joint cramping.
