There Is No God!…but something is going on...

I frequently feel angry and confused... On a never ending quest for the truth… This is how I feel…

I see the way that the Earth came into being from matter in the Universe… There Is No God!…but something is going on... I see the way that life began and then evolved on the Earth from amino acids and chemicals etc… There Is No God!…but something is going on... I see the way that the life that came into being, evolved and became increasingly creative resulting in the fantastic infer structure and technology which we have today… There Is No God…but there is DEFINATELY something going on... I then see the terrible atrocities that have occurred on the Earth since life began, both man instigated or otherwise… There Is DEFINATELY NO ALL LOVING GOD!…but something is going on… I believe that all religion in itself has had an evolution process and is nothing more than hearsay and folklore which has been handed down through millennia resulting in the various religions that we have today… However, as much as I am convinced that there is no such thing as an All Loving and Merciful God. I do firmly believe that when you take into account everything that has occurred since the Universe came into being, there does without doubt appear to be some kind of great pattern and plan playing itself out in some inexplicable way… I also think that this is probably something so mind blowing, so unbelievable, that we could not even begin to comprehend what that might be at this time…as a microbe could not even begin comprehend us or our existence…No…There Is No God!…but there just has to be SOMETHING going on...

The problem develops from the anthropomorphic God, try not to imagine some old guy with a big white beard in the clouds. As soon as you attach something to the indescribable(God), it becomes describable(fake).

It needs no names, feelings, desires, or direction.

It just is...

That which is the fundamental truth-the substantial reality- is beyond true naming- but the wise men call it THE ALL.

In the fullness there is nothing and everything. It is quite fruitless to think about the fullness, for this would mean self-dissolution.

If that which is eternal hath all qualities, then it is both-- Empty & Full.

It is alright to be confused but why get angry. If anything, quest for truth will go better without anger. I do not know much about God, but as you say, something is going on. It is safe to say you are not the first to notice it. Some noticed this long ago and named that something dharma. dharma stands for nature of thing and nature of everything. I find dharma based explanation way better then the God stuff.

Hi Peter,

I think trying to understand what God is is not necessary, and impossible probably too for that matter. But you don't need to understand something to believe in it. Well, at least I don't think so. I think your main point is that God doesn't exist because of all negativity in this world. That can certainly be a frustrating thought. I think the answer is that it's not the result of God's Will what you see around you - it's the collective will of humans. God gave people free will to make their own choices.

The thing is...

How did the laws of science which allowed the universe to come into being get there? There has to be something. Call it God, or Spirit, or Consciousness or Spaghetti Monster if you like, but there just has to be something.
