Can a person sell a soul?

I'm new here so i don't know if this post belongs here...

I have wondered a lot of this: Can person sell a soul?

I mean can i sell my soul?

The term does get bandied about a lot, doesn't it?

But I don't think it can be done. People "give up their souls" in service to somebody else, but that somebody else doesn't take their soul-- that somebody else takes their service. The loss of their soul is incidental.

Or, they have expend a lot of energy to get something done for somebody else, but that somebody else didn't take their energy. That somebody else just got something done. The resulting exhaustion was incidental.

You are a soul, I believe, so you will always have yourself. However, you can commit to something that does not make you happy--and that can come off as that you sold your soul, when it's really just that your soul is unhappy with the commitment, because the rewards of your commitment do not satisfy the soul.

Or, perhaps you change your personality in a way that you are uncomfortable with. That can also feel like and seem like you are selling your soul.

The pure AWARENESS that you are HAS a soul (soul = recorder of lifetimes/evolution)
I may give up my soul one day and continue to exist without it.
Id sell it but the currency would be useless outside of space/time/matter.

Yes--we sell our souls to our addictions. The good news is...we can (also) choose to buy them back.

Depends on what you mean by "soul". If you mean the highest, innermost, eternal part of yourself, no. It's utterly impossible.

But you can trap yourself in an illusory prison so strong that only death or divine intervention can free you.

Good news is - nothing can imprison you forever. God can't be resisted forever.

There are many metaphors including, "Selling your soul to the Devil" used as strong descriptions for surrendering one's soul to unscrupulously gather possessions...
They are used as a deterrent as well as to identify immoral/unethical behavior ...
There is no gain in gathering objects or people in this egotistical manner ...
One can restore light/goodness to their soul at the high cost of relentless emotional pain ...
But first one must have self awareness including acceptance of the truth ...

Yes to sell your soul to the devil. This has been great topic among my friends. They believe that there is heaven and hell. I my self aren't so sure. I used to believe but now i'm just questioning everything i used to believe. Mayby there is no god, now fate, there is just us, people, making choices that we either go left or right. But i still believe that we all have a soul. But if the soul is ours why can't we do what ever we want to about it? It's ours.

I think i'm either having some kind of crisis concerning what to believe or i'm going mental breakdown.

You can sell your body, you can sell your mind, you can sell your loyalty, why wouldn't you be able to sell your soul? Although nobody could take ownership of it, your soul still considers it a debt.
