You'll never know beforehand. If I had to consider every time beforehand when I do something nice for another person whether they would help me in return, I'd end up doing absolutely nothing at all. Because it is easy to doubt, but harder to trust. But when you wanna help it feels natural. And is it necessarily 'bad' if they won't do the same in return? It can have a positive impact elsewhere, maybe not for you or for you directly.
