If they ask you, "What is the evidence of your Father in you?" say to them, "It is motion and it is rest."

Sorry, just realized this thread was to be about the "religion"/"science" relationship! :-)

"The Astonishing Hypothesis is that "You," your joys and your sorrows, your memories and your ambitions, your sense of personal identity and free will, are in fact no more than the behavior of a vast assembly of nerve cells and their associated molecules.
As Lewis Caroll's Alice might have phrased it: "You're nothing but a pack of neurons." This hypothesis is so alien to the ideas of most people alive today that it can truly be called astonishing." (Francis Crick)

"The only possible alternative is simply to keep to the immediate experience that consciousness is a singular of which the plural is unknown; that there is only one thing and that what seems to be a plurality is merely a series of different aspects of this one thing, produced by a deception (the Indian Maya); the same illusion is produced in a galler of mirrors, and in the same way Gaurisankar and Mt. Everest turned out to be the same peak seen from different valleys." (Erwin Schrodinger)

"There is obviously only one alternative, namely the unification of minds or consciousnesses. Their multiplicity is only apparent, in truth there is only one mind." (Erwin Schrodinger)

yeah, during those days (early part of the 20th century, 1900s),
quantum theory is so weird for the prevailing mindset of the times
that you've got to be a mystic to understand them.
