Here's something called language dissonance.

That's when contradictory concepts have the same root.

E.g.

Horror, and,
Horrific (meaning, something that is like horror)

are not dissonant, but,

Terror, and,
Terrific (meaning that something that is like terror? no!)

are.

Another example:

Awesome, and,
Awful (full of awe? no!)

The reason this happened is because when these words were invented they expressed such strong feelings that we hadn't yet figured out if they were good or bad.

To be in awe was very bad for some people and very good for others. The word awesome evolved along the good path and awful evolved along the bad.

Terror evolved along the bad path and terrific evolved along the good.

There are many other examples but one thing that unites them all is they describe extreme emotions.

According to a Havard psychologist, dogs are probably dreaming about their owner when they sleep.

Our dog behaved in a specific way when she chased rabbits. If she did that while dreaming we knew she was chasing rabbits.

Human babies are sometimes seen to be sucking in their sleep.

All animals that sleep (at least mammals) dream about what they love and sometimes what they fear.

From what I have read somewhere, it was Sir Isaac Newton who invented the cat flap.
