Hello.
I am 31 years old, from Virginia and I am just starting out on what I can only describe as "my spiritual journey".
I have always felt like I was "different" from everyone else but not in a way that I find easy to explain. I have always felt as though I am stuck in the wrong time period or that I am meant to do or be something that has yet to be made known to me. Even since I was 5-years old.
I always chalked it up to "maybe I'm just a little nuts" but honestly throughout my life the feeling has always grown stronger and stronger as if there were some unseen entity or force trying to push me forward into discovering something that was intended specifically for me.
Well, approximately 6-8 months ago I let go of the "I'm just losing it" mentality and embraced the thought that maybe there really is something I am meant to discover. Since then I have begun practicing Yoga, Meditation, and studying spiritualism, shamanism, and various other related practices. I also have begun studying the ways of Buddhism and all I can say is that it is like I am living a whole new life.
I am still obviously living in the same world I was before but now it is like I have an entirely new view and new way of looking at EVERYTHING. It's like I'm actually SEEING for the first time. I really can't explain it and I am still green as grass at all of this stuff but I have to say I am absolutely HOOKED!
I crave to learn more, I want to become better at Yoga, Meditation, I want to discover my inner self.
Since I have embraced this new way of thinking and living life I feel like I have progressed further in my life in the last few months than I did in the many years I did ignoring the little urges and thoughts in the back of my mind. I now truly feel as though there is so much out there that can't be seen, heard, felt, etc just by "living". Honestly I am too new too all of this to really be able to describe what I feel and I don't know what it is I am seeking but I just have this very strong feeling that I am on the right path now and I can't wait to see what I can learn and discover on the spiritual path. I feel that there is something unspeakably great ahead just waiting to be discovered. I have no idea what it could be.....but I know that I have developed an insatiable appetite for exploring the spiritual realm to find out.
There is really A LOT I would like to say but I figure it will all come out in time. I don't want to write a 10 page introduction so I will simply say....

I have been creeping around this site for the last several hours (since I discovered it) reading other peoples accounts and techniques for meditating.
I only wish I had found this place sooner. I have a lot to learn!
