Post Journal

I’m a strong believer in journalling. I find it therapeutic and it’s a great tool for those of us forgetful types

Recently, in order to further my abilities and experience, I’ve started to keep a spiritual journal and I’m still trying to work out the best way that works for me. I’ve tried writing things down in different sections and have found it to be too bitty for me. I’m now going to try writing everything down in one place to give it a more simple flow.

I was wondering if any of you keep a journal and what works best for you. Do you use good old pen and paper? Or do you do it electronically? What do you include/exclude? What have you learnt from keeping one?

I’m looking for tips basically on what could help me, or anyone else that might be interested in doing this.

Thank you.

I use pen and a blank note book in case I want to draw something relevant (about the US 'letter' size (our A4)). Like you've decided to do, I write it all under one date. Also like you, any thoughts, ideas, comments, successes, failures and so on.

I keep a dream diary by my bed which rules out a computer. Although neglected a bit of late, I write whatever I can the moment I wake up and in the same position I wake up which can be awkward if lying on my right hand side as I'm right-handed. I keep my eyes closed; have learned to gauge line-spacing with my arm/wrist at the bottom of the page.

I've found journaling most useful. The dream diary is about creative possibilities in my pursuits.

I've done journaling in the past but never every day, always with hiccups.
Now I only write down things I want to use again, so I want to keep it as reference. Wisdom, info, insights. That is also occasionally, when I come across something that I find worth keeping.
I've learnt from experience that the regular journaling is never read again and it'd just pile up either on my HD or paperwork.
I now only type, Word file. That because my neck & headinjury makes it too trying to write, and also find writing with a pen very uncomfortable. Apparently it's a skill you learn at school and lose later on hihi.
I can type real fast, doesn't put stress on my neck / head, so for me it's a great option.

Oh, at times I do focus wheels (Abraham Hicks). But I then type it and don't save them on my PC.

I started journaling when I was at a very young age around when I was 9. I don't know why I did it but there was just some comfort in putting thoughts down to paper.

I kept that up over the years, and I'm like 46 now so you can imagine how many volumes of books I have 'authored' over the years. And how cringe worthy reading some of my thoughts that I had in writing as a growing kid, then as a teenager, then as an adult starting out work etc.

I like writing things down...not much of a fan of typing them down on a PC, although that is a way faster option. There's just some level of comfort I feel in scribbling my thoughts down from pen to paper. Therapeutic, is probably the better word to describe it.

These days, I just write down my dreams which can get really bizzare...sometimes it feels like when I go to sleep, I slip into a self made movie in the head lol.

I learnt through this journaling experience that I was extremely negative during my younger years. I see it when I read back some of the pages (and there are times I reaaaaaaaallly don't wanna read back some entries). It has taught me that by having so many negative thoughts, I had unconsciously wrapped myself with negative vibrations during those years.

I'm consciously trying to switch my focus in my journaling these days to more positive things. And you know what...it's helped make my life so much better.

...although I still harbor some thoughts about burning the older journals that I kept in the early years ..eeeeks! There were moments when I looked back at those pages and my eyes would widen in horror and go "Omg nooo how in the world did I even THINK like that back then..."

I can well imagine, I'm dying of embarrassment just thinking of how I used to carry on when I was younger

I blog with world press and I find one place is good I also blog in sun section of your space in this forum—-
It’s definitely therapeutic and I get excited when I have new material- I try not to be so hard on my self- doing what I love, opportunity’s with opinions and things that have happened or things through my life or day…

Just have a relaxed mind set and don’t put pressure on the self or be to hard on the self to get lost count - it’s quality over quantity…
