Diet Pop = Bad
http://health.yahoo.net/experts/dayi...soda-addictive
About time i seen a decent article about this.....
The one thing that made me laugh, is that "scientists dont know why diet pop give a higher risk of XXXX, XXXXX and XXXXXX", even though th eonly real difference is the aspertime, when compared for "regular" pop..

I am a huge diet soda drinker. I have been since my teens. That said, I switched to caffeine free a number of years ago and feel better for having done it. When I do drink the soda with caffeine I feel dehydrated. So I wonder if that is the main issue???
By the by, I have made a lot of healthy changes to my diet over the years as I am aging but if diet soda is going to be the end of me then so be it. I will not give it up.

Aspartame in soda is harmful because it breaks down in the body to many different substances that are neurotoxins. Aspartame gives me migraines. I avoid any foods or beverages that contain it. I read labels. Soda is very acidic. My daughter did a science project in 5th grade involving raw eggs and soda and lemon juice. She put a raw egg in a container of lemon juice and another in Pepsi. By the end of 2 weeks, the shell had been completely dissolved in both the lemon juice and soda. Think of what a 12 oz serving of soda does to your teeth and body.

I don't dare have anything with aspartame in it, not gum or pop or chips... it messes with my system so badly. Hives is the worst of it but it lasts for so long. Terrible awful stuff.

That aspartame, and other chemicals in diet drinks are really bad news.
Even sugar is better than that. Even something like lemons or limes with boiling water poured over, sugar added, dissolved, cooled, refrigerated, and then fizzed-up in a sodastream machine is a healthier option, and makes a nice drink. (home made lemonade) Easy to make

My mum used to make that many many moons ago! I lived on it when I played in the woods like a wild thing all day. No, the sugar didn't rot my teeth, and didn't make me fat, or give any of us any more hyperactivity than we liked having as happy kids playing in the woods.
