That is mainly what Wallis teachings.

I highly encourage you to look up Dzogchen Master Norbu. He has a great book called The Self Perfected State which really helps one understand Dzogchen.

We are on the same page there.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I miss darshan. But you know I have also experienced darshan while meditating in the same room
with a bunch of other people. Physically with a group of people all meditating on silence together
can be such and incredible experience. A very blissful experience.

Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
Some say "when two or more are gathered in my name there I will be also." I think the name referred to
is a "holy" name, a name that can not be spoken in words but can be felt in quiet meditation.

Yes! Very informative - pronounced differently by people, tho.

YES, the power of a group meditating was surprising to me - I went for over a year
1-2 times a week with the SRF group -
Yogananda for those new to this world, ha.

(But, I could not take the cold any longer - 10 degrees outside and they 'had' to open a window cuz
the Master said to ---who lived in Southern Calif!) Too crazy for me, freezing was such a distraction ...but love the people.
But, oh my, my inner experiences excelled!!!!
I have posted about the Holy Name or Sat Naam, the Word so many times for yrs - no one is interested. *shrug*

I don't consider anyone a 'spiritual teacher' but there are some music artists from my favorite bands that seem genuinely intelligent enough to look up to. One example is Timo Kotipelto.

A woman of my heart, sweet Miss H. I feel exactly what you are saying. The only way to know
it is to experience it. Darshan is a very unique experience, it has a very unique feel and quality to it.
Only a teacher who has achieved a certain level of development can share darshan with their
students/devotees.

Sat Naam or True Name, Holy Name, or Holy Word, are all referring to that very same primordial
thing which vibrates within us. It is that which is enhanced with darshan. I feel blessed to have
experienced it, and in the past I experienced it a lot. I also used to go to group meditation regularly;
that is a unique experience as well.

Oh my, darshan has sent me into an altered state -
I wasn't really in my body afterwards ...I was walking back to the hotel and could see my feet walking, but I was in a 'zone' of 'wow'....

That's it the 'Wow Zone'.
Miss H was not home.
And I'm remembering just 1 x. Another transformed me for close to a year...
my friends were all ---'W-what happened to you? You've changed'....and that was months later.
Now you're making ME miss darshan ...but, really you are right - we really don't need our guru,
(or whoever it is), to be in front of us.
That's a darn good teacher when they teach you to get into a higher place all on your own!! But, you know that.
