I too have noticed that desires (craving) eventually do subside in meditation but there remains a sense of goodwill toward all with an intuitive inclination to perform "actionless action" in the best interests of all. Words like craving, attachment, acting and so on eventually seem inadequate and unnecessary despite being very useful during developmental stages.

If one must indeed use words, I actually prefer the Buddhist wording "wholesome" and "unwholesome" with the underlying implications being obvious.

I just notice that aspiration generates some stress. I'm not sure if that is wholesome or unwholesome, but it does come and go.

Although I was raised Roman Catholic, I utilized the purification methodology from Buddhism (Sattipattana Sutra and Heart Sutra) and Pantanjali's Yoga Sutras. They are both awesome.

That is the one!

I really loved traveling up and down that river where the Temple is located.

Interesting history how the reflective material on the temple came about.

China traded with Siam but Siam did not find anything worth trading or buying from China.
Because of that situation, China merchants decided to put
ballast in their ships that were made of porcelain with
'free material' put inside the ballast.
Once the ships arrived in Siam, the ballast was left behind. The clever
Thais took the porcelain pieces and put it on these temple.

I even have some pendants made from this ballast material.
Surprising, I went out of my way to look at these beauties today!

If you go around to the side of the Temple, there is a statue of Marco Polo.

I thought that might be the temple of which you were speaking. I've been to almost 50 countries and always go to the temples/mosques/churches in the countries that I visit. The Buddhist temples and monasteries in Lhasa, Tibet, continue to rank among my favorites but Thailand was great as well.

Are you referring to Pagan, the city of Ten Thousand Pagodas on the Irrawaddy River? I loved it !

Although city names have changed, I've been to Rangoon, Mandalay, Pagan, and Pegu.

(I love spiritually oriented destinations.)

I absolutely loved the temples in Pagan and, with all the Buddhist temples there with images of the Buddha all around, one gets "lost" in Buddhist immersion. That was my favorite city in Burma.

It is said that Genghis Khan conquered the city in 1287 (I believe) and that he took all the inhabitants into captivity. However, being superstitious and wary of offending any "God", he fortuitously left all the temples intact.
