The Devil & nine of wands
Hello ,
I am new to tarot and need some advice on a spread I did.
So me and my boyfriend broke up about a month ago he broke up with me and Ive been keeping my distance and whenever he messages me I always cut off the conversation I just feel it's better for me to move on.
So I asked Tarot why he will not give my boots back he has them there but he said he can't find them and will randomly message me to say he still can't find them which is strange because I told him to let me know when he does find them but anyways when I asked the question How come he will not give me my boots I got the Devil clarified by nine of wands. I am not sure how to read these cards together can anyone help.
Thank you !!!
Sorry if I did not post this in the right spot.

If you consider both cards, you will notice that the 2 figures in The Devil are being 'held' by their chains to The Devils throne (yes I know they can remove these chains at any time but, in this instance, that is not the point).
In the 9 of Wands, the figure is holding onto his Wand, his last line of defense.
So possibly he does have the boots, but is holding onto them, realising he has made a poor choice in ending things with you.hoping that withholding your boots will draw you back to him. It's a sort of 'control'situation, This is his last hope, and his excuse for contacting you without losing face and admitting he made a mistake. The boots are merely pawns in his plan, once you have your boots, you have no further reason to have contact with him and he realises that.
