Has anyone ever heard that you shouldn't stand by a window when it is lightening outside. I was always told this as a kid. Does the lightening somehow attract to you if you do? Just curious?

I've heard that, don't know what it does? Sounds rather paranoid....maybe there is some truth.
But I've always wanted to be outside or look out the window when they come Other people freak and hide in closets. Embrace them!

Yeah I like to stand at the window or out on the porch. I was looking out the window once and saw lightening hit the tree in our backyard. Unfortunately my dog decided he was going to stand out in the storm well the current moved across the ground and knocked him out! I thought OMG the lightening killed him, but he eventually got up and ran for cover. Poor thing, but he was ok...
My sister use to jump in bed with me when thunderstorms would come...heheeeee

The American South is one of the many places that call for me to visit it. It seems like such a lovely place. Today we had a thunderstorm and some hail as well. It was quite exciting
