My primary spiritual practice is shamanism, with some elements of Buddhism in it. Crystals have always stood apart for me, and have been the most consistent "New Age" thing I've believed in in my journey to develop my spirituality. I use them in the same way FairyCrystal does, and consider their explanation a perfect descriptor of what I do. Mostly I wear them and keep them nearby, and I have a few that I do use directly in my practice. The most notable being a trio of Fairy Stones that help me stay balanced when I Journey. I also have my main pendant, which is composed of a double-pointed quartz crystal with a piece of moldavite. It's my consistent companion and provides a bit of a spiritual energy boost when I get too caught up in worldy matters. Another one I have is a quartz crystal with several little points connected to it, which is helpful for encouraging members of my spirit family to meet me when I do Journeys.
Additionally, outside of shamanism I've used crystals in healing layouts when doing energy healings for friends and family. And like FairyCrystal, I've found that over time I have a preference for keeping my crystals for my own use. Overall I actually use very few of my crystals directly; most of them are spread across my apartment, either on shelves for decoration and atmosphere, near technology to absorb electromagnetism, or in my plant pots. I have one red jasper in particular that is moody and really doesn't like to be separated from its plant.

You look at her astonished, trying to remember the last time you even saw this person before, the meeting meant so little to you at the time. 'Don't you remember? I was standing on the bridge, staring at the water, and you passed and said 'Good morning'."
