There is another explanation. God simply revealed to him what the king was planning to do.

Remember what Bible says, Elisha could overhear the king's conversations himself
You should reread carefully what it says. It doesn't say Elisha heard the king's conversation, only that he told the king of Israel about them. He could report them because God told him about them, not because he heard them himself.

Where does it say that in the Bible??!! Oh right it doesnt, its just an interpretation you've added on yourself.

That is true, but how else could he have heard the very things King Aram said in privacy of his bedroom??
It doesnt say anywhere that God revealed those things to him, you're adding something that isnt there

Also if you go on to read rest of Kings 2:6 you'll see it hints at vast armies being present in different dimensions (also called astral planes):

Quote:
15 Early in the morning a servant of the Holy Man got up and went out. Surprise! Horses and chariots surrounding the city! The young man exclaimed, "Oh, master! What shall we do?"

16 He said, "Don't worry about it—there are more on our side than on their side."

17 Then Elisha prayed, "O God, open his eyes and let him see."
The eyes of the young man were opened and he saw. A wonder! The whole mountainside full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha!
Elisha prays to God so his servant can have whats called "Astral Vision".

There are so many "sins" among all of the religions, that I'm pretty sure at least one of them would call astral projection a sin. Of course, if you don't believe in the religious god...there are no "sins". Surely, there are societal rules and ethics and morals...but sin? Nope, not for me...;o)

I would consider the concept of "sin" to be meaningless so, of course, I'd say astral projection and communicating with spirits is not a sin. I'm not a Christian, obviously, but I have thought a lot about this and developed robust arguments for rejecting Biblical morality. Question and challenge everything. As others here have advised, vet any non-physical entities you may encounter. As for the warnings about Satan, my advice is to take these with a pinch of salt, as it were.

I am a Christian, but I'm not the kind of Christian that know everything about the Bible etc.. This whole thought has really scared me, and I would like to get some ones opinions on this!

Thanks guys!
The only sin is what you call a sin. Humans created sin, not God. The devil character was created by man, literally men. In ancient times woman ruled the world, and men created fear using a devil character to gain power. Back then men were only seen as workers and good for impregnating woman and thats it. Eventually it was a mass consciousness. Creating what you christians call the devil today. I do say this. You cannot believe in God and the devil at the same time. God is the "Alpha and Omega. Everything that ever was, everything that is, and everything that ever will be.". It says so in the bible. With that said the word God loses it's meaning when there is a devil character as well.

It doesn't say he actually heard him either, so you are adding something that isn't there.

There are many places in the Bible where it plainly says that God revealed things to his prophets. Unless there is evidence to the contrary we must assume that he did the same thing with Elijah.

The fact that someone can see another plane of existence doesn't mean that he can travel there.

I will concede that much. Its all in how we interpret things

No, because every time you ASSUME you make an *** out of U and ME.
Didnt your high school coach ever teach you that??

Just because God revealed something in earlier places in Bible doesnt mean thats the standard for every future event in Bible as well
