Looking for some book recommendations

I'm looking for some beginner type of spiritual books or at least ones that wouldn't scare away most people or are easy to read or apply. Self help books especially those with some kind of spiritual overtones are good too. Thanks.

Have a look at any of Alan Cohen's books. I can't think of any offhand, but he's good at conveying spiritual messages without going overboard. Have a look around Hay House's site, too (he's one of their authors) and see what pops up

Hi Mystik,

If you're interested in Buddhism, there's 2 books by Stephen Batchelor that I just finished reading one and am almost done with the other, he's really good. Living with the Devil is one of them, and Buddhism without Beliefs is the other. I find his explanations easy to understand.

Good luck.

p.s. I found them both at the county library. free books, yay.

Thanks Silver. I am familiar with some of the basics of Buddhism and attended a Buddhist meditation a few times. I'll put those on my list. Thanks.

Wayne Dyer....simple, comprehensive, clear, everyday terms and
quotes of great teachers and masters....he is wonderful.
When I saw him the audience and myself leaving were as if we had
heard sat sang from a guru...oh, that was maybe too out there.
Ok...we were in alpha...was that too out there, also?
Ok, we were high...in the zone.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
