Ground of Being

I created myself as I saw in others
Became the roles they played
Through the feelings I laid
Deep inside my own creation

My true self, that knows itself
Fully aware in the emptiness
It is no longer contained
Controlled of itself
Afraid to feel
See and notice itself

As a life
As its true nature
And essence of being
The old world order
Becoming a chaos
A mess I linger in
As my companion
Shadow and friend

Slowly over time
That friend
Kept alive by me
Begins to over shadow me
Make claim to me

Create and have me believe
I am all that
I am that which was created in me
My worth judged by that creation

My worth playing out as something unreal
Something made real by me
The illusion of myself
Trapped inside
A body
A knowing aware of itself
Yet caught up in the creation
Of this life, these others, those things

The point of meeting yourself aware
Shows the feelings of despair
Contained still by the hands of myself as others
Not yet held by my own hands
That can only hold and know itself

Complete and no longer shadowed
By mankind, by others, by the friend
I held so close, for so long
All the while believing
That it was me

No longer able to perceive
Myself as the true essence
Of being myself true to me

When the deepest aspects in feeling
Come to meet the awareness of who I know I am
That feeling is your bridge
Your marker
To fall down
Right down into the ocean of despair
Not holding anyone, anymore
Not holding your close connected friend
You perceived was you

Here in the eternal, infinite bath of you immersed
Comes to life the feelings of helplessness
Hopelessness, nothing to hold onto anymore
Nothing to bring you back to familiar land
Where you know that old friend would always save you
Show you you, show you an old familiar way
Of being you

A way out of this deep immersion
Where nothing can save you
Accept the deep immersion itself
The depth of knowing and not knowing
Into the infinite playground
Of you as the universe
Coming to life aware

You as you knew yourself to be
This immersion, the ocean you are
No longer can contain
In feeling, anything but the self
Proclaimed as itself
What it always knew
Understood
But couldn't feel
Afraid to feel

The end of itself
The demise of what
Was,
"The companion"
A friend, created as you

The ocean calls you back to remember
And reclaim what you know
Reclaim and open to what
No longer can be contained
By you

In the release of all attachments
One opens to complete itself
No longer contained by itself
Or others, but aware and open

To itself
At home
Inside
Creating a life from that
Creating the expression of itself
From all that
Open and aware
Open and realized
Into Being

This part of the stanzas really caught my eye.

I really love your ability to free write here; without rhyming.

I have given up writing poetry myself for quite a while.
I posted a recent one which I only posted because a guide of mine essentially told me to get back to writing. I find my constant rhyming distasteful as I really used to enjoy free form- or half free forming, but as of late I have been in a rhyme rut, haha.

Beautfiful work Nature'sFlow, keep writing.

Thankyou Saturn for opening and sharing your thoughts and relationship to writing.

I go through phases of both in me. I normally don't know what is coming from me..lol When I am clear it flows. So naturally that clarity speaks of the process without rhyme sometimes as this one shows..It am not a good predictor of my process until it out of me..

I am moving closer to a shared book writing project so its good I am opening again to not rhyming, it may serve me best with regards to this project ..
