I had had sleep paralysis as a child more than one. I learned to "Lucid Dream" in oerder to take control of nightmares.
My understanding is that Edgar Allen Poe went through this, and was a big reason for his dark tales and poetry.
In Victorian times, the practice was to bury an individual with a cord leading to the inside of their cofffins, so that if they weren't really dead, they could pull on the cord which led to a bell above ground, to signal their revival. it's where we got the term "Graveyard Shift".

Recently in the News was the article about an elderly woman who awoke in the morgue while in the body bag. About which, there resulted a lawsuit by her family.

Never Experienced the Vibrations though until I attempt to dissasociate from my body, during a Lucid Dream.

I never really feel "vibrations" as a lot of people say they do. I try to project through meditation and I don't get anywhere until I lay down to go to bed or just when I wake up and induce an episode of sleep paralysis. From there, I'll feel these "waves" of electricity surge across the surface of my brain when I close my eyes and after a few moments (as long as I remain calm through it and don't panic), I feel like im falling down a bottomless pit or I start being gently rolled side to side, progressing in speed. The urge to jump awake is intense, but if I ride it out, I have no problem slipping out of my body. That's how it works for me anyway

Interesting. I first experienced those reverberations in the ear when in Malaysia (I am Australian).

I took me a few years to overcome my fear of them, but when I did the strangest and most interesting experiences of my life occurred.

I'm not sure how it works but, from my personal experience, I believe the travels that occurred, after I overcame that fear, were bound neither by space nor time.

And to be honest, I don't even know what I'm exactly scared of, panic just sets in for no reason

Maybe it's only because it is an unusual sensation. We are quite attuned to what we perceive as 'normal' through our everyday lives. Even survival can depend on our fight/flight response to something weird suddenly happening in everyday life!

Just keep exposing yourself to the weirdness, is my idea. As time goes by you will get used to it and start laughing at how scared you once were
