I'm going to be doing my Reiki 1 course sometime in August or Sept. Tell me how it goes! I'm excited about doing it but also unsure whether or not i'll actually feel anything..

Am really excited now as my reiki course is tomorrow. Hooray! Really looking forward to it!!!!

Just wondering does a Reiki healer close down afterwards as with other energy healing . A friend of mine seems to be attuned all the time . It's rather off putting when you just want a massage and not Reiki lol x

Reiki healers can and should close down after healing, imho... Massage therapists tend to find that the reiki energies will 'turn on' when they work whether willed or not. They can, however, close it off if they think about it. Why not suggest to your friend that you'd like plain physical work rather than energy work combined?

Well, the course was AMAZING! I loved every minute of it.

We did two attunements the first day, then learnt how to carry out self-treatments...we also learnt about the history of reiki and a bit about practical uses. It was so wonderful to feel the energy flowing through my hands...and felt SO relaxed after the attunements. At the end of the day we performed a full self treatment and wow, felt so relaxed and calm but energised at the same time.

Saturday night I used reiki to clear the hamster room of any unwanted energy - and the hamsters loved it - they never made a sound all night which was great as actually got some sleep! Also reikied my other half's dinner (didn't tell him - lol) and he said it was lovely, and asked what I had used to cook his meat because it tasted great - I said "Just a bit of reiki" LOL!). Also tried to reiki the dog and whilst it was obvious that she felt it, she wasn't bothered about having a session right at that moment!

Day two (yesterday) we had two more attunements, then we learnt abouat treating other people.....also did a couple of meditations and then everyone on the course did a full treatment on someone else.

What else can I say but it was such a fabulous experience - if you are thinking of doing reiki then when you are ready just go for it, you will never regret it.

Im glad that everything went well for you, I know that feeling you had when you first felt the energy from your own hands, its the nicest feeling.

My dog makes me laugh when I reiki him, hes a very large breed, and as soon as I connect with him, he becomes drowsy and lays down, lifts his legs up so I can get to where I need to be. A few weeks ago we put some tongue and groove panels up around his bed area as he kept scratching the wallpaper off, he was afraid to get on the bed with his new surroundings and kept climbing down (his bed is a large foot stool) After a while of trying I decided that reiki was the only way, so we began, he got drowsy, chilled right out, was snoring within seconds, stayed and slept for ages afterthe session ended and hasnt had an issue with his walls since... Its the way forward.
